NEMA 4X enclosures are also designed for outdoor use in harsh environments, specifically to resist dust, falling dirt, and water ingress.
While NEMA 4X can provide perfect protection in most outdoor environments, NEMA 6’s ability to remain submerged for a period of time gives it the edge in many environments.
